A few weeks ago, I was talking to Sam about ways we can raise more money for PIP this year. Last year I helped out a couple of times at stalls we had in Stockport, but this year, we’re looking to increase our fund raising efforts.

Sam and her mum Liz set up PIP, which stands for Parents Information Portal, after George was diagnosed with Polands Syndrome after birth. Usually when you ask expectant parents whether they’d like a girl or boy, the answer, whether truthful or not, is ‘we don’t mind as long as it’s healthy’, but what happens if the child isn’t?

Well that’s where we come in. we want to empower families to live positively with a child with a rare condition. We want to build awareness of rare illnesses and give parents the support and power to challenge the medical profession and make medical processes more positive.

For now, to raise more money, we are planning to hold a fund raiser in The Gardeners at the end of the month. We’re planning to have a quiz, raffle and karaoke.
