So a little last minute I know, but we still managed to get tickets for this Saturday afternoon’s show. It was gonna be me and Gina taking the girls, but Siama has left us to go to a birthday party instead, and now Keeley and Demi’s mums have decided to join us, so I’ve ended up booking more adult tickets than kids lol

Clare has been in love with Henry her entire life. She believes they are destined to be together, even though she never knows when they will be separated: Henry is a time traveler–cursed with a rare genetic anomaly that causes him to live his life on a shifting timeline, skipping back and forth through his lifespan with no control. Despite the fact that Henry’s travels force them apart with no warning, Clare desperately tries to build a life with her one true love.

Romantic mush, but easy enough to watch on a lazy Sunday morning :-)

We saw the posters for this outside the Garrick on our way to The Hat Museum yesterday afternoon and as we had no plans for the evening, decided to take a look. I’d not been to see a production at The Garrick since Kath last starred in one, which scarily is probably about 10 years ago! We only realised when we got there, that it was actually being held further up the road at Stockport College and was this year’s production from Stockport Plaza’s Summer School.
It took me 5 minutes into the play to realise it was based on The Tempest, although if Shakespeare had been this much fun at college, I might have attended more lessons ;-) Considering some of the actors were as young as 9 years old, and they only had a few weeks to learn lines, routines and rehearse, I thought they all did extremely well, particularly the lad playing Cookie. Unfortunately last night was the closing night, so it’s not possible for me to recommend going to see it, be we’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for future performances on at The Garrick.

Anna and I have often discussed going out and doing touristy things in Stockport and Manchester, as apart from the trips I was forced to go on with school, neither of us have ever really been to any of the visitor attractions on our own doorstep. So with this in mind, we spent the afternoon at Stockport Hat Museum. I think we were both expecting to walk in and around and be out again a few minutes later, so we were very please and surprised at the amount to do. As well as reading the various displays about the history of hats and how they were made, including watching a very interesting video about how the blocks that are used in hat making were made, we:

Sat in a giant hat:

Tried on hats:

Saw famous hats including a chef’s hat worn by Ainsley Harriot and of course the hat from ‘The Cat in the Hat’:

Played with felt:

Coloured in and the proudly displayed our artwork on the board, complete with our names and ages as was custom:

Then played with magnet hats!

Considering the whole attraction was free (you only pay for guided tours), we thought this was a superb way to spend a rainy afternoon, with plenty for kids (even the ones as old as us) to enjoy :-)

1. When will I, Will I be famous?

2. Criminal Minds was the last good book I read or movie I saw or tv show I watched.

3. Everything has its beauty but sometimes you have to look hard to find it.

4. Chips and gravy is what I had for dinner.

5. I’d like your ????.

6. Anywhere hot is where I want to be right now.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to chillin with anna, tomorrow my plans include going to the park or museum and maybe cinema and Sunday, I want to see my friend Batty for the first time in ages!
