1. I’d really like to go to sleep right now.

2. An expletive is the word you’d most often hear me say if I stubbed my toe.

3. Possession is nine tenths of the law.

4. Jonny Depp is Captain Jack Sparrow.

5. Marshmallows and fire go together like scarves and gloves.

6. On and on and on.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to finishing work for the week, tomorrow my plans include going to Oldham with Anna and Sunday, I want to have a nice chilled day!

P.S I’ve gone to the dark side and now have Google ads to try and earn a few more pennies, please click on a few links for me!

As it’s almost the end of January (already!) thought I’d better do a bit of an update on my 5 projects…

1/ Complete the Mario game Anna bought me for Xmas.

Have completed the first world and have got to the half way point in the second word which has been saved. I have one more normal level til I get to the castle at the end of the world (I think). Shame work have this new idea about me working for my full shift, as it means I don’t get as many hours game play a day and tend to not touch it on my days off!

2/ Learn Spanish.

I’ve done the first few lessons and can now do colours, numbers, days and months. The first time you play you get a Spanish word and a choice of 4 English words to see how much Spanish you already know. On guess work I made it to lesson 11, so quickly scrapped that game and started again! Still don’t know any of the Spanish words on ‘Are you smarter than a 10 year old?’ though!

3/ Learn more about different religions

Have been reading up on Islam. From what I’ve learnt so far, my understanding is Judaim is like the first part of the story, Christianity is the second with slight changes and then Islam is the final piece. I think most people’s perceptions of Muslims is that they believe in something mystical and completely different to Chritians, which is not entirely accurate. I’m liking some of the thinking involved in this religion, but as I still don’t believe in God or the happenings described, the parents don’t need to worry about another of us converting! This is still a religion I will be reading more about.

4/ Sort out Anna’s kitchen….and cook in it

This one’s on hold until Anna gets her profit share, but I’ve made a start by giving Anna Martin’s phone number

5/ Sort out my dvd/video/book collection and donate any unwanted ones to charity

Not even thought about this one! Maybe one to work on in February…..

ffi

1. Oh, I am so annoyed at the dog! Got home last night to find he’d eaten the meal I’d spent all day looking forward to!

2. Life changes, big and little.

3. During sleep, I move around a lot.

4. Seriously; are you kidding me???

5. Right now I’d like to be back in bed.

6. My DS is my favorite gadget.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to after work drinks, tomorrow my plans include last day on shift and Sunday, I want to enjoy meeting up with old friends at George’s christening!

Will Smith promised his fans at the London premiere that if they go see Seven Pounds he will follow it up with a comedy.

You can see why he made the open plea – it wasn’t the huge box office smash in the US that you would normally expect from a Will Smith movie. But then Seven Pounds is not your usual Will Smith movie.

He plays Thomas, an mysterious IRS auditor who is seemingly righting the wrongs of his past by helping seven random strangers. These strangers include Rosario Dawson’s Emily Posa, who is suffering from a rare heart disorder and a sweet blind man named Ezra Turner (Woody Harrelson).

Smith’s reasons for doing what he does and the eventual outcome is predictable as it gets but the film has two aces up its sleeve.

First of, Italian director Gabriele Muccino (who helmed Smith’s The Pursuit of Happyness) imbues the film with a European cinema sensibility – so no cloying sentimentality and staged camera shots. What you get here is a unflattering close ups and jarring handheld visuals. It fills the film with a visceral energy that just about makes up for the slow start.

The other reason why the film works is the pairing of Smith and Dawson. Their unflinching relationship feels genuine and carries the sort of on screen chemistry that too many modern day cinema romances lack.

Beware though, this is a classic weepie so it would be advisable to carry some spare tissues with you.

Definitely not your typical Will Smith flick, well written and well acted, it’s one where you have to concentrate as the story unfolds, as you’ll still be trying to work out where it’s going. Not quite as much as a tear jerker as it could have been, but that could just be me being a hard hearted bitch ;-)

donnaparty

I did wonder wtf Donna was making us go for her party as we had to go up a very dodgy looking dirt path to get to the social club it was being held at! Gina did a great job buying Donna’s pressies from the team, from her high pitched screams when she was opening them , I think Donna was more than happy. I got a txt from her this morning saying she was hung over (who wouldn’t be after their 21st birthday party!) and was curled up watching Gossip Girl :-)

Nice and simple one for this week, Adam, my sister’s boyfriend wearing a paper hat from a Xmas crackertaken Xmas 2007…..
