Appetizer

Who was the last person you hugged?

Chris – he was more than slightly annoyed at the boss’s suggestion that he gets paid double for working his next shift rather than taking holidays….he’s not had a full 4 day shift off in 10 months, so he wasn’t impressed!

Soup

Share a beauty or grooming trick or tip with us.

Lol that’s a bit too much of a girly question for me….

Salad

What does the color yellow make you think of?

custard and Rupert’s car, although not together

Main Course

If you were to make your living as a photographer, what subject would your pictures revolve around?

Travel locations, then I’d get paid to travel the world :-)

Dessert

What was the longest book you ever read?

I don’t think it was, but Nelson Mandela’s Long Walk to Freedom was 751 pages and took me a month to read as it was so detailed…I’d still recommend it to everyone to read though!

(edit) Having thought about it, one of the Harry Potter books was probably longer, but I read all of them in a couple of days each, so didn’t feel that way!?

The biggest earthquake in the UK for nearly 25 years has shaken homes across large parts of England.

People in Newcastle, Yorkshire, London, Manchester, the Midlands and Norfolk and also parts of Wales, felt the tremor just before 0100 GMT.

The British Geological Survey (BGS) said the epicentre of the 5.3 magnitude quake was near Market Rasen, Lincolnshire.

Meanwhile in Marple, Me, Del and Chris were happily working along, head dancing to the radio when the office shook! I only noticed the desk in front of me moving, as I was that engrossed in my work (!) so I thought it was just Chris messing around until the radio DJ announced we’d had an Earthquake! Of course straight away I txt Leanne to see if she felt it and she reported back that the pub doors had rattled and my bottle of malibu had smashed…I don’t believe her about the malibu, methinks it’s part of a plan to lure me into the pub tonight!

I remember seeing Mandela on the news when I was younger and asked Grandad who he was. Grandad explained that Nelson Mandela is a great man, as he stands up for what he believes in and fights for the freedom of his people. Until reading the book though, that was as much as I knew about Mandela. I had no idea where he came from or the oppression he and his fellow countrymen suffered.

It’s taken me a full month to read the book, so am worried I’ve fallen behind with the challenge. However, this isn’t a book you can read all in one go. Mandela’s writing is so emotive and filled with details, you want to savour every word. A critic has stated this should be compulsory reading for all school children and I wholeheartedly agree.

…I just wish they came with volume control :-)

A wooden fence with a pretty flower hanging over it (don’t ask me what flower it is as I wouldn’t have a clue!). Taken in Etherow Country Park last Summer.
