Enjoy your day xx

Firstly, I’d like to say thanks for everyone’s comment and good luck wishes from last week’s post. I got the job and resigned from my current one yesterday, so now just have to work my 4 week’s notice :-)

This week’s theme had me scratching my head for a bit, so decided to go to dictionary.com for inspiration. original is defined there as:

1. belonging or pertaining to the origin or beginning of something, or to a thing at its beginning: The book still has its original binding.
2. new; fresh; inventive; novel: an original way of advertising.
3. arising or proceeding independently of anything else: an original view of history.
4. capable of or given to thinking or acting in an independent, creative, or individual manner: an original thinker.
5. created, undertaken, or presented for the first time: to give the original performance of a string quartet.
6. being something from which a copy, a translation, or the like is made: The original document is in Washington.

So with these in mind, I had another look through my Japan photos and came up with this one:

This is a police station in Ueno Park!

I’ve seen these meme on a few of the PH’s blogs, so thought I’d have a go….

Appetizer
How are you today?
A bit tired, didn’t sleep well last night and have woken up with a cold. On the plus point am also happy and relieved as I finally got to resign yesterday :-)

Soup
Name 3 television shows you watch on a regular basis.
Until a couple of days ago, I would have said any on ABC1, but now Disney have pulled the plug on the channel, I’m not sure what to have on in the background any more! I’d really gotten into Ghostwhisperer, I think series 2 is now showing on Living, so will be watching there from now on. Although the first episode was only on last night, I can see Belle de Jour becoming a favourite. Other than those, the only programmes I watch on a regular basis are soaps…

Salad
What’s the scariest weather situation you’ve experienced?
Living in the UK, we don’t really have that much scary weather…I think the nearest I’ve come was the earthquakes in Manchester a few years back. I was still living in my flat (half of the attic in a converted Victorian house) and suddenly everything started shaking in the middle of the night…

Main Course
If you could wake up tomorrow morning in another country, where would you want to be?
Somewhere nice and hot

Dessert
What do you usually wear to sleep?
Pjs

I’m resigning today!

In the long, hot summer of 1935 three young lives are changed forever when thirteen-year-old Briony Tallis witnesses her older sister Celia (Keira Knightley) and their housekeeper’s son Robbie (James McAvoy) together.

Bored and alone, Briony invents a scheming plan accusing Robbie of committing a terrible crime. Soon after, amid the growing tension and turmoil of World War II, Celia and Robbie’s new love is destroyed and they must face the consequences of Briony’s accusations, but none of their lives can ever go back to the way they were.

Hmmm, not overly impressed with this one, I found it too slow to start with and the amount of flashback scenes and changing of the time of the story made it a bit difficult to follow. Usually when you leave a film, you’re laughing if the film was a comedy, or contemplative mode if the film was thought provoking, leaving the cinema this time, I just felt depressed! Rupert did enjoy it, although I suspect that may have something to with Keira Knightley being in it!

have a great day, love ya lots

So today was the date for the 10k at Tatton Park, unfortunately, we weren’t there to enjoy it. Rupert’s old skiing injury in his knee flaired up last night, that paired with the late night he had meant we didn’t go.

I’m not too bothered though, my aim with running is just to keep on improving and although i’ve only done 2 runs this year, that’s still 2 more than last year and one more than the year before!

The next planned ruin is Edinburgh winter run, which almost killed me this year. However, i have found a training plan that looks manageable enough…now all I need is the motivation to start!

It was the win we needed, but that makes it sound like the season’s got off to a bad start which isn’t the case. Although we hadn’t won for 6 games before today, the games that we’ve drawn this season, we would have lost last season. The squad seem to have really bonded as a team and are playing much better football.

Wrexham scored first due to a mix up with the keeper and defence giving them an open net, but County equalised a few minutes later with an Elding goal. Although the stats from the game make the teams look pretty evenly matched, I felt county always looked more threatening.

There were a few dodgy decisions made by the ref which had the Cheadle end in uproar, especially the bloke sat next to Rupert, who spent most of the match trying not to laugh at his outbursts!

For this week’s hunt, I’ve chosen this pic of Rupert, taken on our trip to Dublin. In an attempt to find our way around, he stepped into the paper map!

Update on the job front, I spoke to the HR person today and have been told that my application has been accepted by one director and just needs to be signed off by the other one, but by Monday, I should have a formal offer of employment! :-)
