What a match! So journey down wasn’t too bad, made quite good time, with the help of Jackie’s sat nav. Unfortunately we still didn’t see the start of the match as Charlton don’t accept card payments at the gate, so after meeting up with kath we had to walk half way round Charlton and back as the only cash machine that worked was in the garage ages down the road grr

Until the first goal we were pretty even matched – they attacked, we defended well, we attacked they defended well. Their first goal was impressive. However the second was a farce. The ref judged that their player had been taken down in the area – in all honesty i didn’t see, but i did see Logan brilliantly save the penalty. It should NOT have been ordered to be retaken though and no one blames Logan for not saving it again. At the break we were trailing 2-0 and the Charlton fans were predicting a demolition….shame no one could hear them from the stands. On the walk into the ground, all you could hear was chants of Blue army, you’d never guess they were at home, the only time you heard their fans was when they scored and even then not for very long!

Proudlock looked stunned when he got the first goal back and from Anto’s celebrations I did actually think it was him that had scored, but that was the second and equalizing goal When Blizzard got the third and put us in the lead the away end erupted! the stewards looked scared as they obviously have never seen passionate fans before

After that it was all a nail biting blur. They got another, but still looked pretty shaken and only just grabbed the winner in the dying minutes. I know we lost, but I think we were the better team – we were playing a team 2 leagues above us, who had only just been relegated from the Premiership yet they were the ones looking scared. we’ve got a lot to take from the match, where as Charlton have a lot to improve on, if they play that shakily in the league, we may be meeting them again next season

The journey home was an absolute nightmare, we got stuck in traffic on the M1 for over an hour and it ended up taking us longer to get home in the middle of the night than it had to get to London in the middle of the afternoon grr

Nan’s really bad at having her picture taken as she always blinks, but i promise this was taken before we let her near the bottle of wine!

Another Japan pic this week, this time 2 of the penguins in the aquarium, I’d never stayed in a hotel with an aquarium before, but I suppose if you’re looking for the bizarre, Tokyo is a great place to start! As you can tell, the glass was a bit scratched and could probably do with a clean!

P.S If anyone was wondering the hotel, we stayed at was the Shinigawa Prince Hotel
