For Gary’s leaving do, Sarah had arranged for the team to go out for a curry at Sanjoys, so at 9 we piled into David’s car to be taxi’d up the road. Sarah and Kir met us there to tell us that Gary wasn’t actually coming… ho hum we still had a good laugh and as always the waiters kept the restaurant open for us and kept bringing more drinks even though they would have probably closed a few hours earlier if we hadn’t have been there.

New boy Tom did well keeping up with us and didn’t appear to have been too scared….he may be ready for a full night out *evil laugh*

It’s really weird how hearing a song for the first time in ages can take you back to a completely different place. Just heard Nickleback and suddenly I was back on outbound laughing at the arguements we used to have over the radio and whether this was a good song or way too overplayed….

Possibly also had something to do with the number of people i’ve not spoken to in years who I’m now talking to on facebook

So all good plans go to… and all that. The original plan for this week was Tuesday night go to Annie’s, Wednesday go ice skating (now the new rink has reopened – apparently it was closed last week for refurbishment, even though it only opened a few months ago if that!) and Friday out with Sarah and possibly others.

Called Annie today and found out she was busy until Thursday, so new plan was tonight at the Gardners with Neil. Him and Rupert were talking work all night, so I got bored and started playing on the games machine (it has triple towers, the juke box is better, the bar is more varied, who need the Woolie lol).

Realised earlier today that I’d said I’d do overtime tomorrow night, so we can’t go ice skating – apparently I still have an auto reaction to messages pleading for people to work overtime grrr so instead we’re going to go next week and tomorrow night go to the flix and watch Oceans 13 after I finish. The showing officially starts at 10 to 9 but Rupert has promised me faithfully we’ll be there in time for the start of the film, even if we do have to forfeit the adverts, which I do like to watch.

Thursday night, am going out with work for Gary’s leaving do. Sarah H had forgot to tell me about it last week, but had taken it as given that I’d go as soon as they mentioned it was at Sanjoys  Honestly, you leave a team and they forget you straight away ;)

Then Friday night, we’ll go to see Annie, as Sarah has just called to say she doesn’t want to go out as her eczma (sp?) has flaired up quite badly. This is possibly a good thing (the cancellation, not Sarah demanding sympathy) as my back is still quite sore, so I don’t think a night out in Manchester is a good idea at the mo.

Anyways that’s enough planning and replanning for one week…we’ll just have to see if any of it pans out as replanned :-)

So in my hurry to get to work this morning, I managed to fall down the stairs! Got to work and my hand was a bit sore, so thought I’d probably pulled a muscle and then realised my lower back was actually quite painful. After nicking some of Dave’s tablets, my back was still agony, so have just got back from A&E where they’ve confirmed I’ve managed to bruise the tissue in my back and so have been told to rest for the day…. :-(

Summer drags so much without any holidays planned, or football to watch! But at least now light can be seen.

County’s new season kicks off at home with a visit from newly promoted D&R. We’ve now got our Super Ten tickets sorted, the only problem now is trying to work out which matches to go and see with my limited holiday allowance for the rest of the year.

At the moment, we’re thinking first game of the season (has to be done), then Rotherham on 25th August followed by Wrexham on 22nd September (Grandad’s home town) and Hereford on 17th November…. if I take 2.5 hours of for each game, 4 should be fine for this year. Boxing day will be an away trip to Shrewsbury, which can’t possibly be any worse result than our last trip away on Boxing Day *shudders at the memory*.

Thankfully Bury home and away and the home matches for Macc and Rochdale are both next year, when I’ll have a whole load of new holiday hours to play with :-)
