June 2005

Wise man once said you can tell how good a film is by how still I sit whilst watching it…apparently during War of the Worlds, I hardly moved, and I left the cinema with sweets and drink unopened

I confess I have never read the book (it’s now on order from Amazon), but have listened to the cd and although the film wasn’t what I expected, was still very impressed. I won’t give any of the plot away, but apparently all of the important bits are in it, even though it’s based in America in this century…

Batman wasn’t as good, but compared to the other films out this year, is still one of the best I’ve seen. There’s a rumour going round that they’re going to remake all of the Batman films and based on this one, I hope tis true.

So there you have it, 2 films I’d recommend in the one day – I don’t think I’ve ever heard my name said so may times in the one day before ;)

The one thing that has irritated me somewhat is that both films were rated 12a, which means any child is allowed in as long as accompanied by an adult (in cinema prices anyone aged 15 +), but I didn’t think either film was suitable for under 12s. Methinks there will be plenty of kids having nightmares this weekend…

K so I didn’t quite get up at 8 to watch the rugby – opened the door to let Kath and Jay in and went back to bed. Woke up to find we’d lost and kath’d cleaned the kitchen (love ya hun x)

Went up to the Hare & Hounds for lunch, but it wasn’t as warm as it’d been for the rest of the week, so we only managed one drink outside before retreating back to mine.

More drinking later, then ended up at casino with Neil and doubled my money for a change :-)

Today’s been spent sleeping…

Fed up with the annoying ‘crazy frog’, ’sweet chick’ or the dragon thing…check this out from the Cumbrian tourist board …a new free animal ringtone….

So for the past 3 weeks now, I’ve been trying out different managerial styles apparently and today had some invaluable input from my current team…

I’m a mini Anna because I:

- talk to the computer
- put my drink down and then forget where it is

I’m a mini Kev because I nag them all to death

who said management was only about having meetings to discuss meetings?

OMG what a brilliant way to start the new season – first home match is on August 6th (sorry Sarah – we can go on holiday from the Sunday lol) against Carlton Palmer’s Mansfield Town!!!!! I felt so sorry for them when they announced the worst manager in County history as theirs, so ‘welcoming’ him back to EP should be fun

The best of times are when I’m alone with you
Some rain some shine, we’ll make this a world for two
Our memories of yesterday will last a lifetime
We’ll take the best, forget the rest
