Just coz this is one of my favourites….

So by the score it looks like I missed a great game! Managed to get in the pub to see Van Nistelrooy’s goal, but still no consolation for missing the rest of the match!
On the plus point after grring at Kev all morning (because he went to the match whilst me-without-any-holidays-left-for-the-rest-of-the-year worked), he did hint that he’d take me to OT to see a Saturday match,! *big grin* He’s soooooo not gonna be allowed to forget those words

Don’t leave the laptop in a blonde’s bathroom!
After the usual Sunday entertainment of Nan’s (I walked in to find Grandad trying to hack off the plug from the toaster with a blunt kitchen knife) I went to see The Terminal with Bert. You can’t exactly describe it as heartwarming, but we both enjoyed it and since it’s a film I’ve been wanting to see since the previews, worth the wait.
Random fact for the day: the film was apparently inspired by the real-life experiences of an Iranian exile who spent a dozen years unable or unwilling to leave Paris’ Charles de Gaulle airport. So there you go….and I thought just getting through Orlando airport was hell!
Received a call from Sheree today! :-O We might be going out next Saturday to catch up. Bizarrely enough, she’s currently working at CIS
In other news it’s Phil’s leaving do tonight. Instead of joining the rest in town, methinks we may settle for a quiet night in the Woolie … and that’s only because Neil’s picking me up!
Change one thing – change everything
Was inspired to buy The Butterfly Effect by Dee, who mentioned the ending on the DVD is different to the film. As she refused to tell me how, I had to buy the DVD.
Without wanting to give either ending away, I preferred the one on the film, the DVd version was a bit too tragic. Still well worth a watch though.
Following a conversation about men with Kirst at lunch, I was amused to receive this from Janet:
“Men are like fine wine. They all start out like grapes, and it is our job to stomp on them and keep them in the dark until they possibly mature into something you might like to have dinner with.”
I don’t think it’s entirely true, you just have to know what you’re looking for to find a good one
Then again, I don’t like wine either
After work on Friday night it was drinks in the Woolie for Neil’s birthday, then for Rob, Rupert, Kirst and I it was casino time. This was my first time actually gambling. Played with Rupert’s money first to get the hang of the roulette game and then went in with my own. Came out 20 quid up after being fed and watered and got back in the early hours of the morning.
Saturday was County with Kirst, Rupert, Ste, Sarah and Caroline. Another first – we sat in Hardcastle Road stand – wasn’t impressed. Read the rest of this entry »
