So as I may be slightly preoccupied in the next few days, here’s what I’ll have done/be up to:

Last night: pub quiz…apparently we didn’t win
Tonight: in the Woolie with Kirst for one drink ahem…we left at half 11
Tomorrow: Pay Day, Tradition dictates we’ll be in the Woolie
Friday: My birthday meal – off to Sanjoy’s – table’s booked and after today’s news there would have been a pint waiting for Mrs and Mrs Swift and Brodigan, but as it looks as tho neither will be going, I’ll gladly convert them into JD…
Saturday: All day drinking session to mark Karl’s leaving, kicking off in the woolie at approx 1PM…
Sunday Am going round to Vicki’s for first anniversary/birthday drinks…this means will crawl out of The Railway late at night rather the The Woolie..

There is a factory in America which makes the “Tickle Me Elmo” toys. The toy laughs when you tickle it under the arm. A new employee is hired at the Tickle Me Elmo factory and she reports for her first day promptly at 0800.

The next day at 0845 there a knock at the Personnel Manager’s door. The Foreman from the assembly line throws open the door and begins to rant about the new employee. He complains that she is incredibly slow and The whole line is backing up, putting the entire production line behind schedule.

The Personnel Manager decides he should see this for himself so the two men march down to the factory floor.

When they get there the line is so backed up that there are Tickle me Elmo’s all over the factory floor and they’re really beginning to pile up. At the end of the line stands the new employee surrounded by mountains of Tickle Me Elmo’s.

She has a roll of plush red fabric and a huge bag of small marbles. The two men watch in amazement as she cuts a little piece of fabric, wraps it around two marbles and begins to carefully sew the little package between Elmo’s legs.

The Personnel Manager bursts into laughter. After several minutes of hysterics he pulls himself together and approaches the woman.

“I’m sorry,” he says to her, barely able to keep a straight face, “but I think you misunderstood the instructions I gave you yesterday”.

Your job is to give Elmo two test tickles”.

So this is what the world looks like before midday….

Yesterday was good, pottered round the house first thing before going round to Mummy Janet’s, who fed me! Am amazed I can walk this morning, as she put so much salad on the plate there wasn’t enough room for the actual pizza and quiche! Caroline’s a lot better since the last time I saw her which is good, although it means the volume has increased as well.

It’s a shame Kath and Jamie couldn’t make it to the match – we won 41-16 and even I was entertained, although it’s still not football!

After the rugby I was thinking about a nice early night with perhaps a bit of revision thrown in – didn’t happen, Iended up in the Woolie til after closing! Still at least no hangover this morning – the suns out -the birds were singing (at about 5 AM grr)and I’ve got a full day ahead of college and work!
