Monthly Archive
Grr the Blogshares site isn’t working again – this time
the page doesn’t even load – I just keep getting a page
cannot be displayed message. Hmmm – is it just me or
does this happen near the end/start of every month?
This is really not good after Rupert’s plea for more
people to lonk to him to make me even more money! At least
in Blogshares land I’m rich!

I’ve put the best of the photos taken on Thursday night on
the gallery, did I mention we won?!
Click on the photo of us cherishing our award above to have
a look.
I’ve also updated my ‘Now reading’ to show “Only in America’,
a comedy written by Dominic Holland, the compere from the
awards – apparently the most bizarre gig he’s ever done on
the basis a muppet named ‘Boo Boy’ from Barclays heckled him
and then apologised?!
Anyway, am reading my dedicated
autographed copy.
After spending the afternoon Christmas shopping, Sarah
and I spent the evening at scrote central watching ‘Love
Actually’, normally I don’t do girlie films, but it’s another
classic from the makers of 4 Weddings and Bridgit Jones’ Diary.
The soundtrack is also amazing and definitely one for my Xmas
wish list. Personally, I think the kids made the cutest couple
though!
“Everywhere you look, love is causing chaos. From
the bachelor Prime Minister of the United Kingdom who,
on his first day at 10 Downing Street, falls in love
with the girl who brings him his tea, to a hopeless
sandwich delivery guy who doesn’t think he has a chance
with the girls in the U.K., so he heads for Wisconsin.
From aging rock stars, to a stony headmistress, to a
monolingual Portuguese housemaid — love arrives in many
forms, shapes and sizes. Here, ten separate — but
intertwining — stories of love all lead up to a big
climax on Christmas Eve, proving that love is the
driving force in all of these people’s lives.”
WINNERS!

Am very tired, after only having 2 hours of sleep, so
briefly……. we won and kicked Barclays arse!
Fidelity, who we teamed up with for smileinvest, also
had a good night winning 2 out of the 3 categories they
were nominated in. Pics to follow when I’m more awake.
Oh yeah, and we were the only company that can dance!

To my American readers (that is Chery and her mom Linda!)
Happy Thanksgiving!
I got into work yesterday having been up since just after
6 to get the train home from London, to be greeted by Dan
and Kev, who announced they’d spent most of Monday trying
to get hold of me, as I was going to London.
Me in still asleep confused stage, answered ‘No, have just
got back from London..’ What they meant to say was that
they’d very nicely nominated me to go to a posh finance
awards ceremony in London on Thursday, which was all good
and well until later yesterday in a more awake stage when
I had the realisation I had nothing to wear! Hence this
morning, I have been running around Stockport trying to
find something suitable!
I finally settled on a Black Chinese style dress, not too
long not too short, with silver details…Now I just have
to settle on shoes and a coat! Ho Hum

Was back down to London today, as Kath was in a Jazz
Concert at The Bloomsbury. The band didn’t overly
impress me, although they did get better as the concert
went on. The choir Kath was singing in sounded good, but
it was only Kath and the teacher that looked comfortable
on stage. The star of the show (apart from kath of course
)was the guest singer, whose name I can’t find on
the programme

Claire and Steve’s daughter Ellie was christened today. She
behaved beautifully all day – only crying once late in the
afternoon when her Daddy took away the car keys she was
playing with! Pictures are now on the gallery, click on
the photo above to take a look.
ARGHHHHH, we have 2 weeks before our first official review
at college. Methinks I have now found something to do on
the train down to London on Monday!!
Would really
help if my notes made any sort of sense!
Work wise – I tried to sleep through most of it…Justin
still throws like a girl and Ian scares way too easily!

Well done to England for winning in the Rugby World Cup,
I spent lunch time being entertained by random person in
the canteen, who decided to teach me all his anti-Oz songs!
After tuning him out, I managed to catch most of the highlights,
I’d already heard that we had made stupid mistakes, but still
a win is still a win!
Speaking of which, am in complete shock that County managed
not only to win, but 3 of our players managed to score (in
the right net!) Hopefully we’re now getting over the mess
Palmer left us in….
Another offering from Janet….

Three Little Pigs went out to dinner one night. The waiter
comes and takes their drink order.
“I would like a Sprite,” said the first little piggy.
“I would like a Coke,” said the second little piggy. “I
want water, lots and lots of water,” said the third little
piggy.
The drinks are brought out and the waiter takes their
orders for dinner.
“I want a nice big steak,” said the first piggy.
“I would like the salad plate,” said the second piggy.
“I want water, lots and lots of water,” said the third
little piggy.
The meals were brought out and a while later the waiter
approached the table and asked if the piggies would like
any dessert.
“I want a banana split,” said the first piggy.
“I want a root beer float,” said the second piggy.
“I want water, lots and lots of water,” exclaimed the
third little piggy.
“Pardon me for asking,” said the waiter! to the third
little piggy, “but why have you only ordered water all
evening?”
The third piggy says -
“Well, somebody has to go ‘Wee, wee, wee, all the way
home!”
